Yes. This is the Adopting Bitcoin conference and we like to stimulate every visitor to actually use bitcoin. Paying bitcoin over the Lightning Network is the best way to do nowadays.

Here is a quick beginners guide to get you started.

Install a Lightning Wallet

Install a lightning wallet on your phone. We will describe the steps for Blink (Bitcoin Beach Wallet), but you can also use other lightning wallets.

1. Install Blink (Bitcoin Wallet) and open the app on your phone.
2. Choose "Create new account".
3. Choose "Non-custodial".
4. Go to Settings in the Menu and choose Back-up your wallet.
5. Choose "Manual backup".
6. Write down the 12 words on paper. Don't make pictures of it and don't e-mail it to yourself.
7. Go to Settings in the Menu and change Currency to your local currency.

Your Lightning wallet is now ready for use, but it does not have any funds in it yet.

Add Funds to Your Wallet

Open Blink and choose "Receive". By default, Blink shows a Lightning invoice. Since most exchanges don't support Lightning yet, you need to:

1. Choose "On-chain" (by swiping left). You can now use the "Copy" button to copy your bitcoin address, which starts with bc1q.
2. Send bitcoins to this address. Make sure you send more than just the ticket price, since at the conference in Arnhem you can pay just about anything with your Lightning wallet.

The conference will take place on 28 & 29th of May. The exact venue will probably be announced in December 2026 and will be in Arnhem. During the conference days, the conference will take place between 10:30 and 17:00. Expect various satellite events to be announced later, such as afterparties on the conference days.

If you're flying: Amsterdam Schiphol Airport offers a direct train to Arnhem Centraal (72 minutes, €23.30). The train station is conveniently located right under the airport. You can check in and out with your debitcard/creditcard at the yellow poles. Hop on a train headed towards Nijmegen. Check out www.ns.nl for train information.

If you come from Germany, Arnhem is well connected by high speed ICE train.
